Thirty eight years ago I fell in love with a lovely breed, the Italian Greyhound. The rest, as they say, is history. Laviere Italian Greyhounds has bred many top winning dogs over the years, including Best in Show Winners, both in this country and internationally.

I finished the championship on my first Italian Greyhound in 1967 and, incidentally, somehow managed to win the Toy Group at my first Dog Show. I don't know who was more shocked, me or my friends! It certainly is a good way to begin an addiction to dog shows!

My Pride and Joy has been to have the good fortune to breed and own a Number One Italian Greyhound In The Nation, Jason, formally known as CH Laviere Wings of Night, TT (temperament tested), plus a top producer to boot. Jason then amazed me by producing four top ten in nation winners, plus a Best in Show winner. He combined really lovely movement, great conformation, plus a true "show dog Personality". Jason set the standard of what I would strive to produce in the future; beautiful, functional, healthy in body and in mind Italian Greyhounds. In all these years I have never changed my focus. Many of the top winning dogs in the Breed's history have my bloodlines figuring prominently in their pedigrees.

Jason, as well as all my Italian Greyhounds are house pets as well as show dogs. They are raised in a loving environment, and always have a home with us, if the need arises. I usually breed one to two litters a year, as one can only have so many dogs thundering about the house.
